Position Summary
Fortune 500 Company, based in NYC, is seeking a Director of Tax Planning to join the Global Tax Office located in New York. Seeking a high energy individual who is able to function in a fast paced, dynamic, and exciting environment. This is a highly visible position within an exceptionally talented team, reporting to a Vice President of Tax Planning in NY as well as working closely with the Global Tax team around the world.
Responsibilities:
The position is heavily focused on supporting M&A transactions, developing and implementing global transfer pricing policies, providing guidance on withholding tax compliance/policies and procedures, and supporting our US tax compliance team as well as responding to regular queries from our business clients.
Working closely with legal, finance, business development and operations personnel based in the U.S. and around the world. Will need to communicate regularly with high-level executives.
Working closely with Global Tax Office colleagues in the US, London, and Singapore - both tax planning and tax compliance related matters.
Advising on, and leading, acquisitions, dispositions, partnerships and internal corporate restructurings worldwide, including: conducting and/or coordinating with advisors on tax due diligence; ensuring tax efficient transaction structuring; drafting, reviewing and commenting on transaction documents; providing tax input to financial models; working as part of integrated team including legal, business affairs, finance and operations and ensuring all alternatives, issues and risks from a tax perspective are fully analyzed; and contemporaneously documenting tax consequences of concluded transactions for tax reporting purposes.
Strategizing the group's transfer pricing arrangements and conducting transfer pricing analysis and documentation.
Advising on tax withholding and information reporting requirements.
Coordinating with tax compliance team to ensure the proper reporting of completed transactions that occur throughout the year.
Addressing US tax audit issues and supporting foreign finance teams on foreign audits.
Qualifications:
Requires a CPA or JD plus a minimum of 8+ years' experience in US tax law (with some partnership/JV tax law experience)-Joint Venture
Able to review and mark up legal agreements, including deal documents in M&A transactions, licensing agreements, partnership agreements, and general understanding of M&A deals and protocol
Ability to model and illustrate the tax impacts of competing structuring and deal alternatives
Must be able to prioritize, work independently and communicate effectively with tax and business colleagues, both domestically and abroad
Able to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects/queries simultaneously
Must be able to initiate, manage and complete complex projects with little or no supervision
Some travel is required
