Manager - Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting

Overview

Manages the documentation, and enforcement of accounting /reporting guidance for preparing adequate domestic and international financial statements.

Duties, Responsibilities And Expected Contributions

• Prepares the support for all the SEC reports, including:

  • • 10-Ks

    • 10-Qs

    • 8-Ks

    • Proxy

    • eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL)

• Provides guidance/assistance to auditors with financial statement questions and/or issues

• Prepares all standalone financial statements and audits, including:

  • • Subsidiaries

    • Branch offices

    • Other financial statements as required by the Tax Department

    • Related party

    • Retirement plan

• Reviews and addresses the SEC, U.S. GAAP and IFRS technical accounting issues

• Benchmarks and ensures compliance with SEC, U.S. GAAP, IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, etc. regulatory requirements

• Manages the lease software system by maintaining workflow/ user updates, identifying new leases and researching technical lease guidance

• Researches technical accounting guidance related to contracts, revenue recognition, leases, derivatives, new rule implementations, impairment analyses, business combinations and acquisitions

• Manages the continuous review, development and update of the Global Accounting Policies database and new accounting pronouncements

• Supports the SEC report footnotes / disclosures, including but not limited to:

  • • Significant accounting policies

    • Related parties

    • Special charge

    • Intangible assets, net and goodwill

    • Accrued liabilities

    • Financial Instruments

    • Selected Quarterly Financial Information

    • Exhibits

    • VIE and disclosure checklist

    • XBRL

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting required

• Five (5) years of experience including 3 years in public accounting required

• CPA required with technical accounting and SEC reporting experience.

• Strong writing and verbal communications skills required.

• XBRL and financial reporting software experience a plus.

• Graduate degree a plus.

• Airline industry experience a plus.
