Requirements: CPA or Chartered Accountant, Knowledge of capital
markets products and experience with application of FIN 46(R), FAS 133
and FAS,
Experience: 10
to 15 years experience, Capital Markets/financial service experience
Description: This VP will be the
member of 5 person US Corporate Accounting Policy team.
- Function as an accounting expert on US GAAP for complex capital
markets transactions-- FIN 46(R), FAS 133 and FAS 140.
- Work with the company's businesses and Finance colleagues to address
accounting issues as structures are developed.
- Review/analyze transactions with SPEs to ensure appropriate accounting
treatment by the company.
- Aide Accounting Policy teams in
Europe and Asia in analyzing proposed transactions and implementing new
accounting rules
- Prepare "Policy Alert" email on recently issued accounting rules.
- Prepare and conduct teach-ins for front office and Finance colleagues
on recently issued accounting rules.
- Write comment letters to FASB and other regulatory bodies discussing
the company's position on proposed accounting rules
- Attend various industry accounting committee meetings (e.g., SIA, ISDA,
BMA, ASF)
- Strong interpersonal skills, professional attitude and confident in
communicating with senior personnel.
